FOUNDER
Alina Cravero is a licensed Architect in New York and Connecticut, certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and an active member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). She is also a Certified Passive House Designer and holds both a Master's and a Bachelor's degree in Architecture.
Before founding Cravero Designs, Alina built an extensive portfolio restoring, renovating, and reimagining a wide range of historic and contemporary homes throughout New York and Connecticut. Among her notable projects is the restoration of an 1800s carriage house that received the prestigious Lucy G. Moses Preservation Award from the New York Landmarks Conservancy. Preservation and adaptive reuse remain central to her work today, both professionally and personally. In Westport, Connecticut, she serves on the Historic District Commission and the Architectural Review Board/Historic District Commission Joint Committee, helping guide the stewardship of the town's historic resources in accordance with local preservation regulations.
Over the course of her 20-year career, Alina has developed a diverse body of work spanning residential, commercial, and institutional projects. As a Senior Project Manager at a prominent New York City architecture firm, she led projects of varying scales, budgets, and complexities, including comprehensive renovations, additions, and ground-up work. While residential architecture remains her primary focus, her experience also includes projects such as a neighborhood veterinary hospital, a private Sudbury school, and retail space for Davidoff of Geneva. Early in her career, she also served as an Adjunct Professor at New York Institute of Technology (NYIT).
While this breadth of experience provides a strong technical foundation, Alina believes that successful projects are built on meaningful relationships. At Cravero Designs, collaboration is at the heart of every project. By working closely with clients, consultants, and builders, the firm creates thoughtfully designed spaces that are both beautiful and highly functional. Through attentive listening, clear communication, and a commitment to personalized service, Alina guides each client from initial concept through construction and beyond, ensuring a process that is as rewarding as the finished result.
