Westport Guest Cottage (ADU)
A modestly sized Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) can accommodate far more than one might expect. Designed as a welcoming retreat for visiting family and friends, this compact home demonstrates how thoughtful planning can maximize both function and comfort. Despite its small footprint, the ADU includes a full-sized bedroom, bathroom, laundry area, kitchen, and living space.
The placement of the ADU was carefully considered in relation to both the site and the clients' vision. Positioned alongside the existing residence, which also underwent a renovation, and adjacent to the new outdoor patio, the ADU balances privacy and connection. Guests are provided with a comfortable sense of independence while remaining closely integrated into the daily rhythms and family life of the property.
